The raft is a left tributary of the Waldnaab in the district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab . Your upper reaches on the main line are successively the Aschbächl, the Rumpelbach and finally the Gaisbach.
River course
The river section known as the raft arises in Flossenbürg - Altenhammer through the confluence of the Gaisbach ( called Rumpelbach in the upper reaches , rises near Bärnau -Silberhütte at approx. 820 m , 49 ° 45 ′ 34 ″ N , 12 ° 23 ′ 20 ″ E ) and Mühlbächl .
In the further course it flows through the market town of Floß in a mainly westerly direction, takes on the Girnitz from the left at Störnstein and flows into the Waldnaab at Neustadt an der Waldnaab .
In Neustadt, at river kilometer 1.3 - at the level of the Nachtmann Bleikristallwerke engine - there is a fish migration aid set up in 1996 . The water quality corresponds to quality class II.
