Florian Abel (born August 14, 1989 in Oberhausen ) is a German soccer player .
Career
Florian Abel joined his home club Rot-Weiß Oberhausen as a child and remained loyal to him through his entire youth. In the U-23 he took on an important role at a young age and became the captain of the team. After winning the championship in the Landesliga Niederrhein and the rise of the reserve team to the Niederrheinliga , the sixth highest division, he got a job in the first team in the 2nd Bundesliga on the last matchday of the 2009/10 season, when he was already certain of relegation the final quarter of an hour. The following year Abel again had prospects for the first team, but missed the pre-season due to an injury. Even when the professional team got into the relegation battle again, he was not used, but he came to 33 games and eight goals for the U-23. After the relegation of the first team, he was firmly in the third division squad from 2011. Before the season he fell out again because of a torn muscle and so it was until the 9th matchday before he got his first third division appearance. He scored his first goal for the first team on matchday 17 in a 2-1 win against SV Wehen Wiesbaden . After a disappointing 2011/12 season with only twelve league appearances (metatarsal fracture in March 2012) and the relegation of his club from the third division , Florian Abel moved to the regional division Wuppertaler SV in summer 2012 . After the Wuppertal's withdrawal into the league, he left the club and switched to regional league competitor Alemannia Aachen for the 2013/14 season . After two years, his expiring contract was not extended and Abel moved to KFC Uerdingen 05 in the Oberliga Niederrhein for the 2015/16 season . In the summer of 2016, the national league club SV Sonsbeck signed him . After a year and a half he left Sonsbeck in the winter break of 17/18. Abel joined the upper division TuRU Düsseldorf for the second half of the season . During the summer break of 2018, he signed a two-year contract with 1. FC Bocholt .
His father Günter Abel also played as a professional for RWO and was the coach of VfB Homberg until 2015 .
