Florian Vogel (cyclist)

Florian Vogel (born February 18, 1982 in Aarau ) is a Swiss cyclist in the disciplines of mountain bike and cyclocross .

In the junior categories, Florian Vogel collected numerous places of honor at the MTB continental and world championships. Among other things, he achieved second place at the 2000 European Junior Championships and third place at the 1999 World and European Championships. In the U23 category, he came second at the 2002 European Championships and third at the 2003 World Championships.

In 2005 he won his first elite title with the Swiss cycling championship.

In 2007 he was third for the first time on the podium of the elite world championships in cross-country . In 2008 Vogel became European champion in this discipline and achieved his first victory in the World Cup by winning the run in Fort William. In 2008, 2009 and 2011 he won the Swiss championships in mountain bike cross-country. At the 2011 European Championships in Dohnany (Slovakia) he won the bronze medal in the cross-country discipline. In his second Olympic participation in 2012 , he was 30. In 2017 he became European cross-country champion for the second time.
