Walter Hauser (cyclist)

Walter Hauser (born July 26, 1937 in Möriken ; † April 24, 1998 ) was a cyclist from Switzerland and Swiss champion in cyclo-cross racing .

career

Walter Hauser was a trained bicycle mechanic and has been active since 1955. As a junior and amateur, he achieved his victories, especially in cyclo-cross races. He hardly competed in street races and had no successes there either. In 1961 he drew attention to himself with third place in the national championship in cross-country racing. 1962 to 1964 he was nominated for the UCI World Championship . His greatest success came in 1964 when he became Swiss champion in cyclo-cross racing.
