The Ford 200 is currently the season finale of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series . It takes place at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead, southwest of Miami , in the US state of Florida .

The race was held for the first time in 1996. From 1996 to 2001 a distance of around 250 miles had to be covered. The numbers in the names of the races ( Florida Dodge Dealers 400 and Florida Dodge Dealers 400K ) represented the number of kilometers to be covered. Until 2001 the race was held at the beginning of the season.

In 2002 the race was shortened to 200 miles and has been the season finale of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series ever since. Ford has sponsored the season finale in all three of NASCAR's top divisions since 2002:

These races all take place over a weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway and are part of the Ford Championship Weekend . In all cases, the numbers in the name of the race represent the distance to be covered in miles.

In 2003 and 2007, the one who was the points leader before the Championship Weekend lost the championship in this, last race of the season, the championship lead. Brendan Gaughan had to give up prematurely in the 2003 Ford 200 due to an accident and thus gave up the points lead to Travis Kvapil in the last race of the season . In the 2007 season it also met Mike Skinner . He finished only 35th due to tire problems and relinquished his lead in the overall standings to Ron Hornaday Jr. after leading the drivers' standings for most of the season.

In 1999 and 2007 there was a green-white checkered finish .
