Floyd I. Clarke

Floyd I. Clarke (born January 7, 1942 in Phoenix , Arizona ) is a retired American government official. On July 19, 1993, he was appointed director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He resigned from office about two months later on September 1 of the same year.

Clarke studied law at George Washington University . From 1964 he worked as a special agent for the FBI in Birmingham , Boston and Philadelphia . He was later promoted to Special Agent in Charge before Clarke became Director.
