The Buon Ma Thuot Airport ( english : Buon Ma Thuot Airport , Vietnamese : Sân bay Buon Ma Thuot ) is a regional airport of the provincial capital Buon Ma Thuot in the Vietnamese province Đắk Lắk . The airport is also known as Phung-Duc Airport .
Location and directions
The airport is east of the city.
The tower (TWR) sends and receives on the frequency 118.3 or 130.0 MHz . The airport has various navigation aids. The non-directional radio beacon (NDB) transmits on the frequency 386 kHz with the identifier BU. The rotating radio beacon (VOR) transmits on frequency 112.1 MHz with the identifier BMT. A distance measuring equipment (DME) is present.

Incidents
- On March 19, 1973 from crashed Saigon coming Douglas DC-4 of the Air Vietnam ( air vehicle registration number XV-NUI ) to touch down at the airport Buon Ma Thuot 6.5 km south from it. The cause was an explosion in the hold near the main spar. All 58 occupants, 5 crew members and 53 passengers were killed.
