The Mérida airport , officially Aeropuerto Internacional Manuel Crescencio Rejón or international and Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport , German and Manuel Crescencio Rejón airport or Mérida-Rejón Airport is an international Mexican commercial airport in the city of Merida in the Southeast. It is operated by the airport operator Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste , or ASUR for short. The airport also serves as the headquarters of Air Base No. 8 of the Mexican Air Force .

The airport was thoroughly modernized between 1999 and 2001 and can accommodate aircraft up to the size of a Boeing 747-400 or Boeing 777-300. The capacity of the two crossed runways is 30 flight movements per hour. The longer of the two runways, 10/28, also has an instrument landing system (ILS). In addition to various operational buildings, there is a passenger terminal at the airport that can accommodate both national and international flights. It has a total of 60 check-in counters and four passenger boarding bridges. There is also space for numerous other aircraft of various sizes on the apron; there are also helicopter landing pads. The airport is open 24 hours a day. In 2011, 1,225,593 passengers frequented the airport, which corresponds to an increase of around seven percent compared to the previous year.

The airport currently plays an important role in domestic traffic. Numerous airlines connect the airport directly with various destinations in Mexico. By far the most important route is the one to Mexico City, which is served many times a day. There are also international flight connections. a. to Houston and Miami.
