The Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport is an international airport in Guadalajara in central Mexico in the state of Jalisco . According to the number of passengers it is the third largest airport in Mexico. It is named after Miguel Hidalgo , the so-called "father of Mexican independence". The airport consists of two terminals and two runways . It serves as a hub for the airlines Volaris , TAR Aerolíneas and Aerolitoral . The airport is operated by the “Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico”.
