Extraction and presentation

Fluotrimazole can be obtained by reacting trifluoromethylbenzotrichloride with benzene and aluminum chloride and then reacting the intermediate product formed with 1,2,4-triazole .

Fluotrimazole is used as a fungicide . The compound acts by inhibiting sterol - biosynthesis . The compound was first mentioned in 1973 and was the first triazole fungicide to be marketed.
