Folea (German: Folia , Hungarian: Fólya ) is a village in Timiș County , in the Banat region , in south-western Romania . The village of Folea belongs to the municipality of Voiteg .
Geographical location
Folea is located in the south of Timiș County, 36 km from Timișoara and 15 km from Denta . The village is connected to the national road DN59 Timișoara - Moravița ( E70 ) via a municipal road .

history
The place was first mentioned in 1341 under the name Fele . Until 1526 the settlement belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and during the Ottoman rule (1526–1718) to the Vilâyet Temeşvar . In the 1717 census, the Wallachian village of Folle is registered with 20 houses, on the Mercy map of 1723 Follia is part of the Ciacova district.
In 1782 Josef Bieliczky and Georg Andreovits were landlords of Folea. Then the Bieliczky and Klaniczay families came into possession of the estate. In 1859 Georg Csiki became the landlord of Folea. In 1896 Daniel Rajasics and Bernat Hauser bought the estate.
As a result of the Austro-Hungarian Compromise (1867), the Banat was annexed to the Kingdom of Hungary within the dual monarchy of Austria-Hungary .
The Treaty of Trianon on June 4, 1920 resulted in the Banat being divided into three parts , whereby Folea fell to the Kingdom of Romania .
