history

The historical origin of the municipality is the count's castle of Font-rubí on the Puig de Castellot (791 m) , documented as early as 983 . It was used to monitor a nearby pass between the Segarra plateau and the Penedès plain . The castle was destroyed in the wake of the War of the Spanish Succession (1701–1714).
