Fouke is a city in Miller County in the US state of Arkansas . In 2000, almost 870 people lived in an area of 2.7 square kilometers.
Fouke is part of the Ark-La-Tex socio-economic region , which includes parts of the states of Arkansas, Louisiana , Oklahoma, and Texas .
Demographics
The 2000 census showed a population of 859 people in Fouke. These were divided between 291 households and 220 families. There were around 300 people per square kilometer. 95.5% of the population were white, 2.5% Native American, 1.7% Hispanic or Latin American, and 0.3% black. 0.6% of the population were of another race, 1.2% had two or more ethnicities. For every 100 women there were over 95 men. The median age was 27 and the per capita income was just over $ 11,000 per year.
By 2012 the population rose to 873. At 31, the local median age was about eleven years below that of the state of Arkansas.

In the southwest of the urban area, Interstate 49 crosses the city, which leads to the two Texarkana cities in the northwest and to Doddridge in the south . US Route 71 runs from the north to the south , via which Fouke is connected to the cities of Shreveport or Alexandria in the south and Fort Smith in the north.
