Frajo Köhle , actually Franz-Josef Köhle (* 1967 ), is an Austrian musician, composer and music teacher.

Life

Köhle grew up in Seefeld , where he attended elementary and secondary school. He received his first accordion lessons at the age of seven and learned guitar from the age of 12 at the Seefeld Music School. From 1983 to 1986 he lived in Telfs for the first time and then from 1987 to 1991 studied music and movement education with a focus on guitar at the Carl Orff Institute of the Mozarteum in Salzburg . He did his community service from 1991 to 1992 and since then has been working full-time at the Telfs Music School, where he teaches elementary music for children and “late-working people” and the guitar.

The multi-instrumentalist and music teacher makes music for children and adults, among others in the formations " RatzFatz " (together with Hermann Schwaizer-Riffeser) and "Die Köhler" (with his sons David and Jakob Köhle). He wrote stage music for the Tyrolean State Theater (eg "The Big Princess", "Prospero's Magic Island", "The Farmer as Millionaire" and " The Robber Hotzenplotz ") and also appeared as a musician in this context. He has already performed several times in the Tyrolean folk plays , after he was responsible for the musical implementation of the world premiere of Georg Ringsgwandl's “Der varreckte Hof”, a joint theater music project with his two sons. In the duo "Kasi & Kö" with Gerhard Kasal he paid homage to Gerhard Bronner with the program "Various Viennese" . With “Die Köhler” he also appeared in Studio 3 in the ORF regional studio (CD presentation Ausg'rabm ). Köhle, who played a central role in various CD productions, is considered a “musical jack-of-all-trades” (ORF) of the Tyrolean music scene. His artistic range also includes hands-on concerts for children or ad hoc music to lyrical texts at the Audioversum . He also accompanies instrumental studio recordings by other musicians, for example the white giant trickles on the Manu Delago album Adventions (2008; Sessionwork Records) with the guitar at Leise . Köhle has been teaching at the Tyrolean State Conservatory since 2014 and is a lecturer in music and dance education at the Orff Institute in Salzburg.

He is married to the flautist Christine Köhle, with whom he has a daughter in addition to the two sons with whom he played in the trio "Die Köhler". His wife and daughter Tabea (vocals) can be heard on individual tracks from RazzFazz albums.
