François-Xavier Yombandje

François-Xavier Yombandje (born July 9, 1956 in Koumra ) is former bishop of Bossangoa .

Life

François-Xavier Yombandje was ordained a priest on September 22, 1985 . Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Kaga-Bandoro on June 28, 1997 .

The Archbishop of Bangui , Joachim N'Dayen , donated him episcopal ordination on October 26th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Matthias N'Gartéri Mayadi , Bishop of Moundou , and Edouard Mathos , Auxiliary Bishop in Bangui .

On April 3, 2004, he was appointed Bishop of Bossangoa . He resigned on May 16, 2009 after a Vatican investigation found that many local priests had violated their vows of chastity, poverty and obedience. A few weeks later, the Archbishop of Bangui, Paulin Pomodimo , also resigned.
