François Boucq

François Boucq (born November 28, 1955 in Lille ) is a French comic artist .

He published his first drawings, political caricatures, in Le Point in 1974 . After a few series, he began to draw regularly for the magazine (à suivre) in 1983 . These works later resulted in "Les Pionniers de l'Aventure Humaine" (German: "The pioneers of human adventure"), "Point de Fuite pour les Braves" , "La Pédagogie du Trottoir" and "La Désiroire effervescence des comprimés" (Eng .: "Rigid in the ring of passions").

In 1992, Boucq won the Max and Moritz Prize for “The Pioneers of Human Adventure”, published in German by Alpha Comic Verlag . In 1998 he won the Grand Prix de la Ville d'Angoulême at the Festival International de la Bande Dessinée d'Angoulême . In Charleroi , he received the prize for the best album and the Prix RTL for the best comic for “Starr in the ring of passions” .

Together with Jerome Charyn he worked on “La Femme du magicien” (German: “The Magician's Wife”), “Bouche du Diable” (German: “Devil's Mouth”) and “Little Tulip”, with Alejandro Jodorowsky on “Face de Lune ” (German:“ moon face ”), which now extends to three volumes in Germany as well. 2001 began another collaboration with Jodorowsky with the die-hard western series "Bouncer". He often worked with the scenarioist Philippe Delan.

In the 1990s, the series about the insurance agent “Jérôme Moucherot” (German: “Horst Katzmeier”) and his adventures was created in leopard skin and adorned with a fountain pen through his nose. The "Bengal Tiger", as he is affectionately known by his wife, is already an older character from "The Pioneers ..." to which, in addition to various short stories, several complex comic novels are now dedicated. The stories take place in a satirically exaggerated urban jungle in which only survival counts. In addition to creatures from different cultural and geological epochs, characters from other comics (for example Smurfs) as well as historical personalities, especially Leonardo da Vinci , appear there again and again .

His most recent publications in Germany include the series “Janitor”, which he developed together with the scenario artist Yves Sente , a single volume for the series “ XIII Mystery ” and volume 1 of a new edition of Gotlib's superhero satire “ Superdupont ”.
