François Laudet

François Laudet (born November 11, 1958 in Paris ) is a French jazz musician ( drums ).

Laudet began to play the drums by himself. From 1979 he worked with Lou Bennett and Philippe Baudoin . In 1982 he performed with Guy Lafitte at the Traditional Jazz Festival Breda. From the 1980s he worked mainly in big bands such as Claude Tissendier's Saxomania , Ellingtonmania , in the Ornicar Big Band of his brother Philippe Laudet , with Gérard Badini's Super Swing Machine and with his own big band, with which he wrote his first live album in 1992 ( The Drummer Is Rich ) (originated in the Petit Journal Montparnasse ), followed by the Glenn Miller tribute In the Miller Mood (1994), the recording Let's Take Off (1996) from the jazz club Duc des Lombards and the album Live in Paris (Black & Blue, 2001).

In 1997, Laudet replaced Butch Miles on a tour of the Count Basie Orchestra ( Ghost Band ).
