Prix ​​Sidney Bechet

The Prix ​​Sidney Bechet is a jazz prize that was awarded annually between 1969 and 2002 by the Académie du Jazz to a French musician in one of the traditional jazz styles ( musicien traditionnel or musicien Français de l'année jouant dans le style traditionnel ). The award was named after the jazz musician Sidney Bechet, who had died ten years earlier . Since 1972, an honorary award has been awarded in addition to the main prize in a few years .
