Françoise Wilhelmi de Toledo
Françoise Wilhelmi de Toledo (* 1953 in Geneva ) is a doctor and fasting expert . She is the founder of the Medical Association for Therapeutic Fasting and Nutrition (ÄGHE) and director of the Buchinger Wilhelmi company . She became known for her books and studies on therapeutic fasting and its medical effects.
Life
Françoise Wilhelmi de Toledo is the daughter of a Swiss and a Spaniard. She received her diploma in medicine in Geneva in 1982 and continued her education in Switzerland . She received her doctoral degree in Basel , the title of the doctoral thesis is Methodical Problems in Assessing the Vitamin Balance During Fasting .
In 2012 she completed her training by completing an Executive Masters in Family Entrepreneurship MA at the Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen .
At the age of 17 she discovered fasting for herself, dedicated herself to this method and is still active today in the development of fasting therapy and so-called "integrative medicine".
Since her marriage to Raimund Wilhelmi in 1982, grandson of Otto Buchinger , with whom she has two sons, she has been in the management of the Buchinger Wilhelmi family business.
In 1986 she co-founded the Medical Association for Therapeutic Fasting and Nutrition (ÄGHE eV), and in 2003 the guidelines for fasting therapy emerged as a consensus of experts.
In 2011 she founded the Maria Buchinger Foundation with the aim of supporting research in the field of therapeutic fasting. To this day she is the first chairwoman of the foundation . In addition, she was President of the Soroptimist Club Überlingen from 2016 to 2018 .
As the scientific director of the Buchinger Wilhelmi Clinic , she dedicates herself to the medical program and the scientific documentation of fasting in cooperation with various universities ( Charité in Berlin , CNRS in Strasbourg ) and the Institute for Longevity of the University of Southern California (USC). Under her leadership, the world's largest fasting study was carried out in the Buchinger Wilhelmi Clinic on Lake Constance , which was published on January 2, 2019.
