Franc Tausch (born October 25, 1968 in Hamburg ; † August 2012 in Los Angeles , California ), real name Frank-Dieter Tausch , was a German presenter , actor , voice actor , journalist , film critic and web artist.

life and career

Franc Tausch began both as a theater actor and as a radio presenter for Radio Hamburg . Over the years he worked as a presenter and actor for the German broadcasters RTL and ZDF . Among other things, he participated in the ZDF production Friends for Life , moderated the cinema show and interviewed Hollywood stars on the television station Premiere . Tausch also worked as a voice actor and took on roles in radio plays , television and radio commercials , among other things . In 1987 he spoke in four episodes of the radio play series TKKG .

Tausch moderated at the US broadcaster KLSX 97.1 in Los Angeles until the format was redesigned in 2010 . Since January 2010 he has mainly devoted himself to his work as a film critic on his YouTube channel FilmKritikTV , in which he presented and reviewed current films. The channel reached more than 190,000 subscribers and many of its videos were viewed up to 200,000 times. In total, the channel exceeded 100 million video views.

In May 2012, Tausch was briefly inactive and apologized by saying that he was "blown away". On July 31, 2012, he wrote on his Facebook page:

“I'm sorry that there weren't any new videos for a few days. As you have probably noticed, since I came back from my 'forced break' it is still very exhausting for me to speak. Special at the moment! I had already told you at the time that it could come like this ... I am trying to find a creative solution. Otherwise there might be another short video break. "

Since the beginning of August 2012, Tausch was suddenly completely inactive. On October 25, 2012, on the occasion of his birthday, his family confirmed on his Facebook page that he had passed away in August 2012.
