Francesco Maria Gazzoli

Francesco Maria Gazzoli (born March 18, 1763 in Terni ; † January 26, 1848 ) was an Italian Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Todi .

Life

He came from a patrician family and was the son of Conte Filippo Gazzoli and his wife Ersilia Fabrizi. His uncle was Cardinal Luigi Gazzoli , his brother Ludovico also became a cardinal in 1831. On September 26, 1784, Francesco Maria Gazzoli received the sacrament of ordination .

On September 22, 1795 he was appointed Bishop of Città della Pieve and on August 11, 1800 he became Bishop of Amelia . Elected Bishop of Todi on September 23, 1805, he died at the age of 84 after serving 42 years in office.
