Francisco José "Lobo" Carrasco Hidalgo (born March 6, 1959 in Alcoi ) is a former Spanish football player and current coach.
Player career
Carrasco joined the first team at FC Barcelona at the age of 19 . He previously played for FC Terrassa and FC Barcelona B . He won his first title back in 1979 when Barça won the European Cup Winners' Cup . Carrasco played alongside Hans Krankl against Fortuna Düsseldorf in the storm. He won the European Cup Winners' Cup for the second time in 1982 ( he played through in the final against Standard Liège ). In 1986 he played in the final of the European Cup against Steaua Bucharest , but the final was lost on penalties. But he was again successful in the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1989, but was not used there. During his time in Barcelona in 1985 he also won the Spanish championship, once the Spanish Super Cup and a total of three times the Spanish Cup. In 1989 Carrasco moved to France for FC Sochaux , where he was under contract until 1992. He ended his career in the same year, but temporarily played for UE Figueres .
Internationally, Carrasco played 35 times for Spain and scored five goals. He played his first international match on April 4, 1979 in a 2-2 draw against the Romanian national team . He took part in the 1980 European Championship in Italy (Spain dropped out in the group stage) and the 1986 World Cup in Mexico (out in the quarter-finals) without being used. At the European Championship in France in 1984 he reached the final, in which Spain lost 2-0 to the hosts . In this tournament Carrasco was used in each of the 5 games and scored one goal.
Coaching career
In the 2005/06 season Carrasco took over the coaching of the Segunda División club FC Málaga B , which at the end of this season had to go into the third division with Carrasco. In the 2007/08 season he coached Real Oviedo , who were playing in the Tercera División at the time.
