Francisco Javier Casquero Paredes , Javier Casquero for short (born March 11, 1976 in Talavera de la Reina , Toledo ) is a former Spanish football player and today's coach.
Player career
Segunda División
Javier Casquero began his playing career at CD Toledo in the Spanish Segunda División , where he played for a total of five years between 1994 and 1999, interrupted by a loan to the lower-class team Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa in the 1996/97 season after he had previously not been like that was used frequently. For the 1999/2000 season he moved to Atlético Madrid B , which was still second class at the time. After only a year he accepted the offer of the traditional club Sevilla FC , which was relegated to the Segunda División in the preseason.
Primera División and International
In the first season he was able to return to the top division with his new team - it was the first time for him. In the 2004/2005 season he was even represented internationally with his team and Casquero played in the UEFA Cup for the first time . Still, that season was anything but good for him as he lost his regular place with the Andalusians.
So it happened as it had to and in the summer of 2005 Casquero signed a contract with league rivals Racing Santander . Just one year later, he was drawn to the Spanish capital to join the surprise team of Getafe FC, with whom he first reached the Copa del Rey final in 2007, before he was also represented internationally with the Madrid suburban club in 2007/2008.
After six years and more than 200 competitive games for Getafe, Casquero's contract was not renewed. He left the club and signed a one-year contract with the UD Almería .
Others
On April 21, 2009, Pepe freaked out during Real Madrid's league game against Getafe FC after a foul on his opponent Casquero in the penalty area. In his opinion, the Getafe player had deliberately dropped. After the referee's penalty whistle, he kicked the player lying on the ground twice, pushed him down and hit Juan Albín in the face. Casquero took the penalty himself, but failed to Iker Casillas . Pepe was sent off with the red card and cursed the referees when leaving the field. After the game, he was suspended for 10 league games.
