Franciszek Ślusarczyk
Franciszek Ślusarczyk (born July 26, 1958 in Dobczyce ) is a Polish Roman Catholic clergyman . In December 2018 he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Krakow , but resigned from this office a little later.
Life
Franciszek Ślusarczyk received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Krakow on May 20, 1984 .
After years of chaplaincy in Żywiec-Zabłocie and Wieliczka , he was prefect from 1990 to 1997 and then until 2002 subregens at the seminary in Cracow. In 1997 he was promoted to Dr. theol. PhD ; since then he has taught homiletics as a visiting professor at the Pontifical Academy for Theology in Krakow . From 2002 to 2014 he was Vice - Rector for Pastoral Affairs at the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Kraków-Łagiewniki and then Rector ecclesiae and custodian of this sanctuary. He was also a member and secretary of the Archdiocese's Council of Priests .
Pope Francis appointed him titular bishop of Cillium and auxiliary bishop in Krakow on December 3, 2018 . On December 12, 2018, the Pope accepted his resignation. Reasons for the resignation before the episcopal ordination were not given. The archbishopric only emphasized the appreciation for Ślusarczyk, but there are serious reasons for his decision not to take up the office.
