Janusz Mastalski (born May 4, 1964 in Cracow ) is a Polish clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Cracow .

Life

Janusz Mastalski received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Krakow on May 21, 1989 .

After years of chaplaincy in Gdów and at St. Stephen's Church in Kraków, he worked in university pastoral care from 1997 to 2000. In 1998 he was promoted to Dr. theol. doctorate and has since taught as a lecturer at the Pontifical Academy for Theology in Krakow . In 2003 he completed his habilitation and since 2009 has been Professor of Practical Theology at Kraków Theology and, after its expansion, at the Pontifical University of John Paul II. From 2008 to 2014 he was Dean of the University's Faculty of Social Sciences and from 2014 to 2018 Vice Rector for Didactic Affairs. Since 2017 he has also been the Regens of the Krakow Seminary.

Pope Francis appointed him titular bishop of Noba and auxiliary bishop in Krakow on December 3, 2018 . The Archbishop of Krakow, Marek Jędraszewski , donated to him on 5 January the following year in the Wawel Cathedral , the episcopal ordination . Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Poland, Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio , and the Archbishop Emeritus of Kraków, Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz .
