Frank Buchwald

Frank Buchwald (* 1963 in Nieder-Olm ) is a German historian and journalist .

Life

Buchwald, son of the journalist Manfred Buchwald , grew up in Nieder-Olm in the Rhine-Hesse region and attended the Theresanium high school in Mainz . From 1981 to 1985 he worked for the Allgemeine Zeitung in Mainz and took part in an exchange program in the USA in 1984 . From 1986 to 1992 he worked for the ARD and head of the service and moderator of Neues um Nine at Südwestfunk . He then moved to the ARD studio in Madrid and studied history , political science and comparative literatureat Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz . He was at the end of 1991 Winfried Baumgart with the dissertation Adenauer's information policy and the Federal Press Office to Dr. phil. obtained his doctorate and was trained by Hanns Joachim Friedrichs two years later .

From 1992 to 1996 he was the South America correspondent for heute journal and a correspondent in the Balkans, Africa and the Middle East. He also represented ZDF in Brussels , London and Rome . From 1996 to 2003 he headed the ZDF studio in Rio de Janeiro . In 2003 he became political correspondent in the ZDF capital studio in Berlin . In 2008 he took over the economics department and in 2011 he was the presenter of today's parliament .
