Frank Heinricht (born March 2, 1962 in Berlin ) is a German physicist and doctor of engineering . Since June 1, 2013 he has been CEO of Schott AG in Mainz .

Life and education

After studying physics and graduating as a Dr.-Ing. At the Technical University of Berlin , he began his professional career in business in 1992.

Professional Activities

Heinricht's first professional position was Temic Semiconductors in Heilbronn , where he was appointed General Manager and Chairman of the Integrated Circuits division in 1995. When the company was dissolved in 1998, it was divided into three independent companies. One unit was acquired by Atmel Corporation, in which Heinricht as Chief Executive Officer of the area Integrated Circuits initiated.

In 2003 Heinricht moved to the management of Heraeus Holding GmbH in Hanau . From 2008 he took over the chairmanship of the management at Heraeus. Among other things, he was responsible for research and development .

In February 2013, Heinricht was appointed CEO of Schott AG by the Schott AG Supervisory Board with effect from June 1, 2013 . After the technology group, based in Mainz, had been pushing the exit from the solar industry since 2012 , Heinricht strengthened the core areas: pharmaceutical packaging, ceramic cooktops , fireplace panes and fire protection glasses as well as components for the protection of sensitive electronics. In the 2016 financial year, Heinricht increased its net income by 47% compared to the previous year to 139 million euros. The turnover was 1.99 billion euros. This growth course was continued in the 2016/2017 financial year. The sales mark was 2.05 billion euros. Consolidated net income increased by 41 percent to 197 million euros.

Further commitment

Heinricht has been President of the Bundesverband Glasindustrie eV (BV Glas) since November 2015 and is a member of the Presidium of the Federal Association of German Industry (BDI) as an assessor for 2017 and 2018 . In addition, he is Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Würth Group and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG .

In 2012, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Materialkunde eV (DGM) appointed Heinricht an honorary member for life after he had been active on the DGM board for more than six years, two years of which on the financial advisory board and two years as chairman of the board.
