Frank Henry Hughes (born January 17, 1881 in Neligh , † June 28, 1942 in Rochester ) was an American sports marksman .
successes
Frank Hughes, a member of the Lincoln Park Gun Club had participated in the 1924 Olympics in Paris in the trap part. In the team competition, he took first place with the US team ahead of Canada and Finland. With a total of 363 points and thus three points ahead, the Americans, whose team also consisted of Samuel Sharman , John Noel , Clarence Platt , Fred Etchen and William Silkworth , narrowly secured the gold medal. Hughes was the team's best shooter with 92 points, along with Sharman. In the individual competition, like James Montgomery , he achieved the second best result with 97 points behind Gyula Halasy and Konrad Huber , who achieved 98 points. In the jump-off, Hughes prevailed against Montgomery and thus secured the bronze medal.
