Frank Löffler, grandson of the German ski jumper Sepp Weiler , started skiing and ski jumping at an early age. He made his first appearance in the World Cup in the 1998/99 season and was considered one of the greatest talents. At the German championship in Winterberg in 2002 , Löffler became German champion on the normal hill.
At the beginning of the 2003/04 season , Löffler and his teammate Michael Möllinger criticized the starvation methods of the then national coach Wolfgang Steiert . The top of the DSV accused Löffler of insufficient suitability as a competitive athlete. Although the DSV offered Löffler a return to the team after a discussion, Löffler ended his career in 2004. Löffler has made 49 World Cup starts in his career.
After the abrupt end in sport, Löffler became managing director of Nordic Emotions , organizes sporting events, also offers ski jumping courses and supports young athletes. Now and then he still watched ski jumping in Bavarian. He was reconciled with the coaches or management cadres like Wolfgang Steiert or Rudi Tusch . Löffler is committed to popular sports through activities, for example it is planned to introduce even more young people to this winter sport by means of bouncy castles or small ski jumps.
