Frank Philipp Schlößmann (born 1963 in Bad König , Odenwald ) is a German set designer .

life and work

Frank Philipp Schlößmann studied stage and costume design at the Salzburg Mozarteum from 1985 to 1989 .

Since 1991 he has been working as a freelance outfitter on numerous international stages. He worked u. a. with directors like Andreas Homoki , Olivier Tambosi , Harry Kupfer and Philipp Himmelmann u. a. at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London , in Dublin , at the Vienna Volksoper , in Amsterdam , Antwerp , Hamburg , the three Berlin houses Lindenoper , Deutsche Oper and Komische Oper , in Cologne , Leipzig , Dresden , the Munich State Opera , Dusseldorf, Strasbourg , in Bologna , Catania , Venice, Oslo, Helsinki, Basel , the Metropolitan Opera New York , in Chicago , Houston , San Francisco, Barcelona , Beijing, Tokyo , the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg. In Bayreuth he was the set designer for Tankred Dorst's production of Der Ring des Nibelungen . For the more than 140 years forgotten and then rediscovered opera Amleto by Franco Faccio from 1865, he designed the set at the 2016 Bregenz Festival .
