Frank Schumann (born December 28, 1979 in Gladbeck ) is a former German handball player . He last played in the 2. Handball Bundesliga for HSG Nordhorn-Lingen .

Career

He came to the former Bundesliga club SG Solingen via the stations VfL Gladbeck and TSG Herdecke . After only one season he moved to HSG Nordhorn , for which the defense specialist was active for four years. After a total of 100 games for the HSG, he moved to the then second division club Füchse Berlin. With the Berliners he rose to the Bundesliga in 2007. He did not extend his contract with Füchsen, which ran until 2008, because he did not feel comfortable in the metropolis. From the 2008/09 season he played for ASV Hamm. With Hamm he rose to the Bundesliga in 2010 . Hamm then formed a syndicate with Ahlener SG , HSG Ahlen-Hamm , which was dissolved after relegation in 2011.

The expiring contract of Schumann with ASV Hamm-Westfalen was not extended, so Schuhmann left the club in summer 2012. He then cured an injury and from the beginning of 2013 trained sporadically with the HSG Nordhorn-Lingen. In July 2013 he signed a contract there. He ended his career after the 2017/18 season.

Schumann made his international debut on January 4, 2003 against Hungary . One day later he played his next and so far last international match against the Czech Republic . In these two games he scored 4 goals.
