Frank Gerhard Zwillinger (born November 29, 1909 in Vienna , † November 26, 1989 in Garches near Paris ) was an Austrian writer.

Life

Zwillinger studied German and graduated with a doctorate. In the summer semester of 1928 he became a member of the Vienna Marchia in the Burschenbunds-Convent (couleur name "Faust"), where he fought at least one length. After graduating in 1938, he emigrated to East Asia and lived in Saigon . Then he joined the Légion étrangère , from which he was released in 1945 after being seriously wounded. He now settled in France and worked for a manufacturer of cosmetics , where he was promoted to management level. In March 1959, Zwillinger met Paul Celan , but this was followed by a correspondence between the two of them that was not very extensive. From Zwillinger's work, poetry in particular, with its variety of images and metaphors, gained recognition. He also wrote some dramas. A comprehensive appreciation of his work was denied.
