Frankenbund
The Frankenbund eV is a home association for the Franconia region with currently 30 groups and 7100 members in Lower , Middle and Upper Franconia , in South Thuringia and Tauberfranken .
history
The Frankenbund was founded on October 11, 1920 under the direction of the Bamberg high school teacher Peter Schneider (1882-1958) in Würzburg . He saw himself as a "federation for the knowledge and care of the Franconian country and people". As early as 1921 in its first statute, the Frankenbund committed itself to denominational and party-political neutrality. He also rejected any kind of separatist orientation. He was never interested in separating Franconia from the political association of the Free State of Bavaria . To this day, the Frankenbund campaigns for a strong Franconia in Bavaria.
