Franz Albert Schneider

Franz Albert Schneider (born September 1802 in Hayn , Kingdom of Saxony , † October 30, 1887 in Hamburg ) was a German businessman .

Life

Franz Albert Schneider was the son of a captain . His father died before he was born and his mother also died early, as a result of which he was brought up by relatives. At the age of fourteen he began a commercial apprenticeship in Frankfurt am Main , then worked as a clerk in Leipzig and in 1826 went to Mexico as an accountant . There he became a partner in a company that traded as Ebert & Schneider and later as Franz Schneider & Co. Schneider was a Prussian consul and Friedrich Wilhelm IV. Awarded him the title of Kommerzienrat . In 1848 he returned to Europe wealthy and settled in Hamburg, where he was no longer doing any business. He was a board member of the laundry and bathing establishment and the 4th waiting school.

Schneider was a member of the Hamburg Parliament from 1859 to 1862 .
