Franz Blanckmeister

Franz Theodor Blanckmeister (born February 4, 1858 in Plauen , † May 5, 1936 in Dresden ) was a German Protestant pastor and theologian.

Life

After attending school and studying theology, Blanckmeister received his first job as a Protestant pastor in Schönberg near Brambach in the Vogtland in 1881 . In 1884 he became archdeacon in Schneeberg (Ore Mountains) , in 1889 pastor at the city hospital in Dresden. From 1897 until his retirement in 1928 he held the pastoral position at the Trinity Church in Dresden.

In addition to his official activities, Blanckmeister emerged as the author of scientific monographs and works of fiction, especially on the history of the Church in Saxony. He oversaw the contributions to the Saxon Church History (BSKG) together with Hanns Rückert . In addition, he was committed to the Saxon branch of the Gustav-Adolf-Verein , whose magazine ( Saxon Gustav-Adolf-Bote ) he published from 1890.
