Franz Fruhstorfer

Franz Xaver Fruhstorfer (born December 6, 1910 in Lohnsburg , † December 13, 1986 in Ried im Innkreis ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and educator .

Live and act

Fruhstorfer was a member of the Federal Council from 1961 to 1973 and chairman of this body in the second half of 1970. Other political functions at the local level were membership in the municipal council and from 1967 to 1979 mayor of Ried im Innkreis. He was Vice President of the Rieder Messe and district party chairman of the SPÖ Ried im Innkreis.

He studied history and geography at the University of Vienna and the University of Salzburg . After passing the teaching examination , he taught these subjects in Ried im Innkreis.

From 1972 until his death in 1986 he was president and mentor of the Innviertel Artists Guild . Franz-Fruhstorfer-Straße in Ried im Innkreis was named after him.
