Franz Haider (politician, 1877)

Franz Haider (born May 15, 1877 in Friedburg , Upper Austria , † October 20, 1951 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( CSP ).

Life

Franz Haider visited after the elementary school , a public school and then completed an apprenticeship as a saddler and upholsterer . He later passed the master craftsman's examination in this subject . Nevertheless, Haider later found work as a worker with the Austrian Federal Railways . In 1918 he was elected chairman of the Reich Association of Christian Railway Workers, an office which he held until 1934.

In the same year - 1918 - Haider also became a member of the provisional Vienna City Council , to which he was to belong until 1932. In the state government led by Mayor Jakob Reumann , Haider also held the position of city ​​council from 1919 to 1920 .

From November 1920 to November 1923 Haider was a member of the Austrian National Council ( 1st legislative period ), before he last held a mandate as a member of the Federal Council ( 2nd and 3rd legislative period ) from November 1923 to May 1927 .

After 1932, after he left the Vienna City Council, Haider no longer accepted any political or public office.

He was buried at the Hietzingen cemetery .
