Franz Josef Kratz

Franz Josef Kratz (born April 9, 1809 in Cologne , † March 27, 1875 there ) was a lawyer and member of the Reichstag for the constituency of Munich-Gladbach .

Kratz attended the Progymnasium in Mönchengladbach and the grammar schools in Cologne, Düren and Aachen . He then studied law at the University of Bonn . In 1833 he became an auscultator at the Cologne Regional Court and then did his service as a one-year volunteer. In 1837 he became assessor in Cologne and from 1838 to 1846 justice of the peace in Odenkirchen . He was then a district judge and from 1859 president of the regional court in Cologne .

From 1862 to 1871 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives , where he belonged to the Left Centrum faction, and from 1867 to 1871 a member of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation , where he joined the faction of the liberal Free Association , and from 1871 to 1874 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency administrative district Düsseldorf 10 ( Munich-Gladbach ). He did not join any parliamentary group in the Reichstag and remained an independent liberal.
