Franz Karl Karcher (born April 15, 1867 in Frankenthal (Pfalz) , † April 8, 1915 in Kaiserslautern ) was a German banker and industrialist .

family

Karcher was a son of Philipp Karcher (1837-1894), director of the Frankenthal sugar factory, and his wife Wilhelmina Pauline, nee. Henel (1846–1925) from Bad Dürkheim . He was married to Antonie Helene born in 1893. Head from Halle (Saale) . His children were Erna Karcher (1893–1936), Paula Karcher married. Adt (1898–1972) and Philipp Karcher (1903–1965).

Professional career

Franz Karcher attended school in Frankenthal and Worms and studied chemistry in Heidelberg , where he became a member of the Corps Rhenania . He was a banker, director of the Böcking, Karcher & Cie. in Kaiserslautern, chairman of the supervisory board of the Frankenthal sugar factory founded by his father (the original company of today's Südzucker Group), member of the supervisory board of Rheinische Creditbank in Mannheim , Eisenwerk Kaiserslautern AG , the Palatinate sewing machine and bicycle factory in Kaiserslautern and the Kaiserslautern gas station . In 1907 he was appointed royal Bavarian commercial councilor.

Awards

Karcher was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit of St. Michael 4th Class (1911).
