Franz Lörch (* 1936 in Hohenzollern ) is a German organist from Munich .

biography

Career

Franz Lörch studied at the State Academy of Music, University of Music in Munich. One of his professors for organ was Karl Richter . After graduating, he worked with Professors Joseph Ahrens (Berlin), Pierre Segond (Geneva) and Augustinus Franz Kropfreiter (St. Florian). He made his debut in the Herkulessaal in Munich,

From 1985 to 2001 Lörch was a lecturer for organ at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich . Since 1992 Lörch has been artistic director of the International Organ Concerts in Munich.

Lörch brought works of some composers of the 20th century to the premiere , including by Harald Genzmer , Augustinus Franz Kropfreiter, Peter Jona Korn , Roland Leistner-Mayer , Wilfried Hiller and Robert Maximilian Helmschrott .

He also played in the cathedral churches of Moscow, Munich, Passau, Vienna, Cologne, Mainz, Magdeburg, Erfurt, St. Gallen, Linz, Bourges, Oslo, Salzburg, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Bolzano, Budapest, Warsaw, Riga and Edinburgh.

As an organ soloist, he has also performed at music festivals in Germany, France, Austria, Slovakia, Italy, Finland, Norway, Denmark, England, Sweden, Holland, Poland and Switzerland.

In 1987 he gave the opening concert on the new Klais organ, after its inauguration, in the Munich Philharmonic.
