Franz Xaver Anton Stubenrauch , from 1758 Edler von Stubenrauch , (born November 3, 1718 in Vohburg an der Donau , † March 27, 1793 in Munich ) was a Bavarian administrative lawyer and author of forest and economic publications.

family

Franz Xaver von Stubenrauch was born in Vohburg an der Donau in 1718 as the son of the Vohburg court clerk Marx Christoph Adam Stubenrauch and Maria Theresia Zwickh, a daughter of the Vohburg nursing and caste clerk Franz Zwickh. The paternal grandfather, Johann Christoph Stubenrauch, who died in 1693, came from Hanover and was appointed as court and personal surgeon at the court of Elector Maximilian Emmanuel of Bavaria. Franz Xaver Anton von Stubenrauch was married to Anna Johanna Müllauer from Ingolstadt, who also died in 1793.

Life

After graduating from the Jesuit high school in Munich (today Wilhelmsgymnasium Munich ) in 1734 as the best of his year, Franz Xaver Anton Stubenrauch studied law and camera science in Ingolstadt . After completing his studies, he joined the Bavarian court service as court chamber secretary. In 1753 he was promoted to court chamber councilor. Due to his extraordinary achievements, he was raised to the imperial nobility with the Count Palatine-Zeilschem diploma on November 6, 1758. In 1766 he was appointed Toll Directorate and Commerce Councilor. In 1782 a medal in silver and tin was struck in his honor. In 1787 he reached the rank of a truly secret councilor and financial trainee.

Services

In 1762, Franz Xaver Anton von Stubenrauch drafted the plan for using the customs shelves. He became the founder of the Bavarian toll system. Another focus of his activity was the supervision of the Bavarian mining industry. Franz Xaver Anton von Stubenrauch was a founding member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and became its first academic paymaster in 1759. He was also a member of the Moral and Agricultural Society of Burghausen. Between 1771 and 1791 Franz Xaver Anton von Stubenrauch wrote papers on forest science , economics and the school system.
