Franz Zdralek

Franz Zdralek (born July 10, 1894 in Kupp , Opole district , † March 19, 1970 in Nuremberg ) was a German lawyer and politician ( SPD ).

Life

The son of a judicial councilor attended the Royal High School in Katowice , where he graduated from high school in 1912. He then studied law at the universities in Breslau and Freiburg im Breisgau . After participating in the First World War , he continued his studies. He passed the first state examination in law in 1918 and completed his legal clerkship at the district court in Ohlau. In 1919 he was at Richard Schott in Wroclaw with the dissertation topic The cover liabilities arising out of contract with liability insurance for doctor of law doctorate .

Zdralek began his professional career in the private sector and worked from 1919 to 1925 as an employee in the metal industry in Bad Godesberg . During this time he was also a councilor for the city. Then he returned to his Silesian homeland. From 1926 to 1928 he was head of the finance and legal department as well as the department for farm workers housing construction of the housing association "Oberschlesische Heimstätte" and at the same time acted as managing director of Baustoffbeschlassung GmbH. From 1929 to 1931 he was city treasurer in Opole and member of the supervisory board of the "Oberschlesische Heimstätte". In January 1932 he was elected First Mayor of the city of Reichenbach in the Owl Mountains .

After the National Socialists came to power , Zdralek was granted leave of absence as mayor on March 25, 1933, and was finally released on December 22, 1933. In the following years he worked as a legal advisor in the private sector and in church administrations.

Zdralek was expelled from Poland in January 1946 and settled in Bavaria. He entered the Bavarian administrative service in June 1946 and became head of the Nuremberg North Tax Office in May 1947 as a senior government councilor. From 1951 to 1952 he was President of the Bavarian State Compensation Office. In November 1952 he took over the management of the central tax office in Nuremberg as government director, which he held until November 1959. He then worked for the Nuremberg Regional Finance Office until he retired in July 1962.

In the state elections in 1950 , 1954 and 1958 , Zdralek was elected as a member of the Bavarian state parliament, to which he was a member until 1962. In parliament he represented the constituency of Middle Franconia.

Awards

On December 13, 1965 he was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit .
