Infant Francisco de Paula Antonio of Spain, Duke of Cádiz Spanish Francisco de Paula Antonio de Borbón, Duque de Cádiz (born March 10, 1794 in Madrid , † August 13, 1865 ibid) was a member of the Spanish royal family from the Spanish line of the Bourbons .

Life

Francisco was the youngest son of Charles IV of Spain (1748-1819) and his wife Princess Maria Luise of Bourbon-Parma (1751-1819), the youngest daughter of Duke Philip of Parma, Piacenza and Guastalla and Princess Marie Louise Élisabeth de Bourbon .

1. Marriage

On June 12, 1819 Francisco married in Madrid his niece Princess Luisa Carlota of Naples-Sicily (1804-1844), eldest daughter of King Francis I of Naples and both Sicilies and his second wife the Infanta Maria Isabel of Spain . The marriage had eleven children, eight of whom reached adulthood:

In 1851, the Duke of Cádiz entered into a left-hand marriage with Doña Teresa Arredondo. The relationship resulted in a son, Richard Marie de Borbon, Duke of San Ricardo (1851–1873).

death

The Duke of Cádiz died on August 13, 1865 in Madrid and was buried in Chapel 7 of the Pantheon of the Infants in the Escorial .
