Franziska Wiethold

Franziska Wiethold (born June 23, 1946 in Würzburg ) is a German trade unionist and was on the ver.di federal executive board.

Life and work

She grew up in Frankfurt am Main, where she graduated from high school in 1965 at the humanistic Heinrich von Gagern grammar school. She then studied political science and sociology at the University of Marburg until 1971, where she received her doctorate. phil.

Until 1981 Wiethold was youth education officer of the DGB and in 1973 she was responsible for the creation of the guideline for union youth education, which led to a lively discussion in the unions. She then moved to the headquarters of the North Rhine-Westphalian trade union for trade, banking and insurance ( HBV ) as a specialist secretary .
