Frauenkirche (Beilngries)
The Catholic Frauenkirche in Beilngries , a town in the Upper Bavarian district of Eichstätt , was built in 1753/54. The rococo building on Hauptstrasse 53 is a protected architectural monument .
description
The hall church with its hipped roof was rebuilt according to plans by the Prince- Bishop 's Court Building Director Maurizio Pedetti on the basis of a previous building by Jakob Engel from 1678. The two-storey roof turret on the north side on a narrow risalit is covered by an onion dome with a roof knob and cross. The sacristy is from the previous building. The facade is structured by ribbons and pilaster strips . The choir has a semicircle.
Furnishing
The high altar (around 1755) is adorned with a late Gothic figure of Mary. The figures on the side altars were made around 1877. The pulpit dates from the time the church was built. The ceiling painting depicts the Assumption of Mary .
