action

The French exchange student Genevieve Le Plouff is entering a high school in a small town in Texas. She lives with the family of Starla Grady, a popular cheerleader .

Le Plouff wins the sympathy of Starla's parents and friends, she also relaxes her boyfriend. She takes over from Starla on the cheerleading team after Starla is kicked out for bad grades. Thereupon Starla wages a guerrilla war against Genevieve. Genevieve causes Starla to be arrested.

Starla later finds out that Genevieve is an American named Clarissa who was bullied in Starla elementary school. Clarissa then moved to France with her family.

In the end, Clarissa goes to France under the name Starla as an "exchange student" to repeat her game there.

Reviews

Michael Rechtshaffen wrote in the Hollywood Reporter on August 22, 2002 that the film was " intrusive " and " uncomfortable "; you can't like his “ zero-dimensional ” characters.

The lexicon of international films wrote that the comedy was “ heavy on dialogue ” and had no “ feel for punch lines ” and no “ sense for cinema images ”. Only the " respectable acting performances " were praised.
