Manfred Jansen (born February 3, 1927 in Oberbruch , † 2002 in Übach-Palenberg ), also called "Fred", was a German football player. For Alemannia Aachen , the defensive player completed 267 point games from 1949 to 1960 in the then first-class Oberliga West , in which he scored 19 goals.

Career

Jansen played for SV 09 Scherpenseel until 1949 , before moving to Alemannia Aachen and becoming a contract player there. For Aachen , the midfielder and defender made 267 appearances and 19 goals in what was then the first-class Oberliga West . He also contributed by three goals in seven missions in the 1951 relegation round to keep Aachen in the league. In 1953 Jansen was part of the starting line-up, which was defeated 1: 2 (0: 2) in the DFB Cup final on May 1, 1953 in the Düsseldorf Rheinstadion Rot-Weiss Essen .

The man from Scherpenseel made his debut on September 11, 1949 in a 2-2 home draw against Vohwinkel 80 near Aachen in the Oberliga West. In the World Cup system at that time, he played alongside the former national player Reinhold Munzenberg, left wing runner, and Jupp Derwall and Bert Schütt stormed in the attack . He came third three times with the black and yellow "Colorado beetles" in the western league: 1951/52 , 1955/56 and 1957/58 . In the summer of 1960, Fred Jansen ended his career as a contract player with Alemannia Aachen and was then active again as a player-coach for Scherpenseel. His son Manfred also played for Alemannia Aachen in the 2nd Bundesliga from 1975 to 1984 .
