Frederick Cherono (born November 23, 1977 ) is a Kenyan marathon runner .

In 2002 he won the Dublin Marathon and in 2003 the Rome Marathon in 2:08:47 h. In 2004 he won the Turin Marathon with his personal best of 2:08:38 h, was fifth in the Hokkaidō Marathon and won the Athens Marathon .

In 2005 he finished eleventh in the London Marathon and ninth in the Milan Marathon . A sixth place in Athens in 2007 was followed by a second in the Madrid Marathon in 2008 . In 2009 he finished fifth in the Xiamen Marathon and came 16th in the Frankfurt Marathon .
