Fredrikke Marie Qvam

Fredrikke Marie Qvam (born May 31,  1843 in Trondheim , † September 10, 1938 in Steinkjer ) was a Norwegian suffragette and liberal politician. She founded the humanitarian organization Norske Kvinners Sanitetsforening (NKS) and was its president from 1896 to 1933. With around 250,000 members, it was the largest humanitarian organization in the country. Qvam was also President of Norsk Kvinnesaksforening from 1899 to 1903 . She was married to the Norwegian Prime Minister and Liberal Party leader Ole Anton Qvam . During her life she was one of the most influential political lobbyists in her country.
