Margarete Bonnevie

Margarete Ottilie Bonnevie (born December 13, 1884 in Nesbyen , † March 28,  1970 in Oslo ) was a Norwegian writer, politician of the liberal party Venstre and women's rights activist. During her life she was one of the most famous women in Norway. She made a significant contribution to the revival of the Norwegian women's movement in the 1930s and was President of Norsk Kvinnesaksforening from 1936 to 1946 and a member of the board of the International Alliance of Women from 1939 to 1949.

She was married to Supreme Court Justice Thomas Bonnevie and was the daughter of Supreme Court Judge Ole Larsen Skattebøl .
